It's amazing how easy it is to
con a gullible public into belieing the absurd - that an electric car can be considered a viable alternative to the gasoline powered version that can go anywherem, at anytime, for a price less than 1/3 that of an electric, and that doesn't need a new $20,000 battery pack every 5 years.

Skeptics abound, but there is compelling evidence that electric vehicles are a step in the right direction and a viable alternative for many drivers. Check out this extensive FAQ section on EVs. Note that the website is run by current and former EV drivers and lessees

they did a great job with that documentary, yay for progress!

Some similarities between the oil industry and the tobacco industry: They both exploit people's addictions (nicotine in tobacco, the convenience of gas). Also, both industries have stifled better alternatives (not smoking is healthier than smoking, not using gas pollutes less). People have successfully resisted tobacco companies...

Interesting point. The US Centers for Disease Control estimates that 20.8% of American adults smoke. What percentage drives a car on a regular basis?
